All These Nice Things – Nunhead pop up

Is Instagram controlling me? Yesterday on the strength of a photo on it, I found out about and also went ahead and visited a new neighbourhood pop up shop in nearby Nunhead. All These Nice Things has two criteria for its stock – it has to be hand made and it has to have been created by a London designer. The owner was a great chatter and though I failed to take her name, I learnt that she just filled the shop with stuff she likes, that her sister makes great quilts and that she is using the pop up as an experiment for a proper shop someday soon.

Her choice of things was gorgeous with plenty to covet – notably the wall-hung textiles by Caitlin Hinchelwood and a fab face vase by Petra Borner who I think Ros interviewed once from our old office. She was a textiles guru from memory, but has been making ceramics lately. The place was also full of cute plants – standard but also lovely – and cushions and candles made by somebody local.

I would have definitely left with this guy if he had been for sale rather than a tool for covering up a plug socket.

By the time you’re reading this I’m hopefully sunning myself abroad. All The Nice Things is only open for two more weeks. So get yourself there quickly if you’re fancying the stuff.

Hi, Very nice post. The Shop owner is my sister Toni Morden-Forbes, she has been a designer in London for many years and recent left a company and decided to experience life outside the corporate world and do something for herself. Gives me some pride that you enjoyed your visit.

Ah thanks Chris for stopping by and letting us know your sister’s name! She has lovely taste, I’m definitely popping back before she closes.
      All the best
