We want to be modern

Yes, it was my birthday this week, and waiting for me on the mat was this super exciting parcel from my friend in Poland.

Polish parcel

Inside, was this…

Modern Polish design

All about design in Poland between 1955 and 1968, it’s fascinating, shedding light on an area of classic Modernism I know nothing about. So far the stand-out thing has been the textile designs by a handful of women designers.

What a fantastic present. I particularly love “maidens” and the “zoo”. All so fifties but wouldn’t you like to find some of these fabrics now?

Like Helene, I especially love the maidens and zoo prints. Fantastic.
Would make great wallpaper for a child’s room…
