I need a table + a trend or travesty

I’ve been living without a coffee table. Part of me is delighted by this – I hated the old one, it makes the living room look bigger – but when I had some friend’s over lately for an evening of wine and cheese (really) I had to bodge together a temporary solution that involved some Ikea steps that have seen too much contact with my kids and their shoes. I put a tray on top, it wasn’t as disgusting as it sounds. Anyway, as was the case about three years ago , what I really want is a few small side tables. And now I’m wondering about the whole tray look after seeing the lovely home of textile and jewellery designer Erin Considine.

The pattern and base on that are equally brilliant.

During my looking at her whole place over at Sight Unseen, the clicking process also came to an immediate halt over this.

Not the plant – though that’s good too – the Sissy Spacek painting! Until 15 minutes ago there was no reason to believe such a thing was so hankered for. Now? Trend I say, TREND.
