Address book: Indigo and white

Jill and I were lucky enough to be sent some new products, and asked to photograph them in our own homes. We won’t say where they’re from just yet, as we love a guessing game as much as you do. We will point out however how perfect they are for the indigo and white trend we’ve been banging on about already.

The crockery above is called Blue Rain, and it’s handmade in Portugal. The centre is such a lovely deep inky blue and the pattern somewhere between Modernism and Oriental craft in its brush-tip theme.

Textiles in the range include cushions (above) in chunky navy knit and a tie-dyed Ikat affair that goes with everything. A zig-zag rug in blue (below) looks good on the floor, but great over the side of the bath. The star of the show however, and the piece me and Jill argued over (of course) was the oversized glass vase in navy. Pleasingly wonky, we think it looked great in both of our houses… hence the argument.

Ready to find out where these products are from? Well it’s… Tesco, as part of their Summer 2014 offering. These are a selection from the Seaside range, just one of four new looks they’re launching. Normally a ‘seaside’ theme makes me want to throw up over the side of a pedalo, but these products surprised us with their sophisticated colours and versatile prints. Trend!

Mental note……must get to Tesco. They are great, I love Indigo with a bright yellow. The pottery looks like a puddle of dark ink has been left to dry in the bottom!

Exciting! I know the vase is totally enormous, but that’s what makes it nice we think.
