Trend: Crinkled rugs

Want to see a rug that looks as though a giant hand has runkled some XXXL tin foil?

Anselm Reyle rug | Henzel-Studio | Milan furniture Fair

It’s actually made from knotted wool and silk and I immediately picture a big Zaha Hadid-esq loft apartment to go with it.

The rug is by German artist Anselm Reyle, who is known for his striking works in silver foil, in collaboration with Swedish rug company Henzel Studio. It’s part of a collection by various contemporary artists, including Helmet Lang and Juergen Teller, and is due to launch tomorrow in Milan.

Ros is going to be our Roving Reporter in Milan this year and I have to say, I’m finding the whole idea of that quite relaxing. I’m sure she’ll tell you just how she feels about that in due course.

Yes, perfect for those homes where kids are not welcome (a previous blog post), if it weren’t just an illusion.

Ooh that would drive me nuts to live with, and still wouldn’t camouflage a tea stain or some cat sick.
