The world of what if: Sydenham?

Do you ever mentally improve your local high street? Mine needs a decent interiors / gift shop and a small independent cinema, but I do nothing more productive with these thoughts than suggesting business plans to a cynical Mr My Friend. Unlike the blog What if: Sydenham, which creates makeovers in the name of persuading local shop owners that design matters. Here’s some of their ‘before and afters’…

The conversion of this old shoe repairs place into fishmonger and butchers is actually happening following WI:S’s designs. How impressive is that?

What a great site! Thanks for the tip-off. I live in Crystal Palace so I’m eagerly following the Cinema campaign. It would be great if it could happen … and it could look something like the above!

Frances, I’m with you. I live within driving distance and would love the cinema to happen.
