Beirut and Bokja

I’m investigating the design scene in Beirut right now and boy it rocks. If you’ve never been there then go. When I visited years ago and went out for dinner one night, we got a whole new table after starters and mains, just for pudding.* Have you ever been to a restaurant in the UK that does a pudding table?

I digress. My real aim is to bring news of Bokja’s latest pieces, all of which cleverly harness the design duo’s love of vintage furniture and ancient textiles and tapestries …

Plus, a slightly different aesthetic and wheels that remind me of roller-boots (can only be a good thing).

Visit the Bokja website for a swizz at the lovely Beirut boutique and check out designers Maria and Hoda’s blog for news, including the latest clebs buying their stuff.

*Seriously, a whole new table for pudding…
