Political comeback

Ooooooo. She’s done a nice job though hasn’t she? We all know Sam Cam wasn’t happy about moving out of her Notting Hill home and into the Downing Street flat, but she’s got it looking pretty OK. Grey floorboards, a Danish sideboard, Dualit toaster in the smart grey kitchen – and a sofa that’s making my velvet obsession flare up all over again.

Downing Street kitchen

I bet she’s fantasizing about the First Lady’s dress getting cut up for contrasting cushions. The whole look is not a million miles off the Downing Street makeover suggested by your humble reporters in our election special. Could we be the interiors blog of choice in the corridors of power?* I expect our OBEs are in the post.

*I hope not. But I did see Ed Milliband shopping for swan beds on Walworth Road at the weekend

I was quite impressed by the interiors, I like the grey kitchen and the Danish sideboard – glad to hear Ed Miliband is keeping it real on the Walworth Road. Good luck with the OBE!

But have you seen the hoo-ha on the Guardian over it? I believe the kitchen they paid for themselves, and I find the arguments about how it could have paid a nurse’s salary for a year something of a red-herring, despite being the very opposite of on the Cameron’s side.

Loved this! Please try to come up with lots of interiors of politician’s homes, especially the design conscious ones. The Danish sideboard is too like our first one, bought in Canada… teak. I hated it eventually.

I’ve literally just ordered that very same sofa!! The man in the shop showed me the DM article with this pic after I’d handed over my credit card. He was really proud.

I can’t decide whether I’m quite pleased they’ve got it too, or really, really upset.

Well, I think it’s an ace sofa so you should be pleased. Did you go for the same colour and everything?

Ha! And I think it means you’re a ConDem stooge. And it’s an ace sofa. Spill about the colour x

Just realised I didn’t reply to this – I am rubbish. Apologies.

But anyway, I went for the pink one!! (the one on the website). It’s called enduring geranium or summat.

Arrives in the next couple of weeks – so excited! Woo! x
