Papered ceilings

It’s a joke I say this since my son’s room has a strip of ripped wallpaper needing replaced with the spare roll in the attic (if only I could be jacked). But, I’m still fancying a wallpapered ceiling as mentioned here. On a picture hunt, I found this which, if a bit more on the chintz-floral spectrum than I’d go, certainly sums up the pose I’d strike if I had papered my ceiling (walls and bedspread).

What do you say to papered ceilings – trend or travesty?

Oh “very” French, they paper everything, walls, doors, ceilings infact anything that IS nailed down.To my shame I am going to attempt to do two ceilings in our new french house!

Oh brilliant Trish – please send us pictures of the results. The wallpapered ceiling is so nuts that I think it may be having a moment in the trendier parts of London. You’re so on trend – we salute you!

Yes, very French indeed. I stayed in a pensionne in Orleans with 5 different types of busy floral wallpaper covering every surface in my bedroom. And the loo was across a cobbled courtyard. It was most rustic, but kind of hard to get off to sleep at night 🙂

Again, this sounds like a trend to me. I’m very into wallpaper clashes – but I can see it might not aid a restful night’s sleep
