Last chance to see…

… the Interwoven exhibition at Habitat, King’s Road.

Gone Rural

The exhibition on the first floor runs for another week and it’s a great place to look at a big trend for the season, that of jazzy basketry. I love these pieces by Gone Rural, one of the companies exhibiting. They work with communities in rural Swaziland to create sustainable employment and entrepreneurship for over 750 women. And their work is jazzy and zig-zaggy as a Jessie J jumpsuit.

Chelsea safari

It’s design week at Chelsea Harbour, have you been? The […]

Nautical but nice

Notknot cushion from Reykjavik Corner Store. If it were mine, I’d sit and thread my fingers through those knots, continually. Black Stripes Cylinder by Bodil Manz. Portable lamp […]

Village voice

Remember the discussion about blue plaques recently? I think I have a new favourite.* It’s from Walthamstow’s Unofficial Tourist Board, a site where residents of what I think is called Walthamstow Village get together to  post pictures of mattresses, shop signs and other suggestions that the gentrification of Walthamstow is slower than it might be, […]
