Finally I use that damn parasol

I’ve carried this from house to house for 15 years.

Bought, on weird impulse, when I was 22. I’m not even sure I had a garden at the time. It was the height of boho-chic, and all that very girlie, exotic, Portobello interiors stuff was well in.

The awful smell of glue from the waxed-paper canopy has taken approx 15 years in various sheds to wear off – just in time for the 2013 heatwave. Doesn’t it look a dream?

… you may laugh but, I was looking for a ‘paper parasol’ yesterday. I love them! I could only find a wee 60cm diameter one though. I’m jealous of your treasure find! Burnt orange too, HOT!

Ele é lindo. E a folhagem do seu jardim também. Aqui nos trópicos (Brasil) ele não resistiria aos ventos e a chuva. Parabéns pelo sonho realizado.

Thank you! I had to google translate that. For our readers, your comment read as:
“He’s gorgeous. And the foliage from your garden too. Here in the tropics (Brazil) he could not resist the winds and the rain. Congratulations dream realized.” The wind and rains are a regular feature of UK life, so he’ll have to be put away come Autumn. x
