Kusama: Get the look

Yayoi Kusama

Just back from the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the Tate. There was a lot to enjoy, and much more to her work than just the famous dots. And yet it is the dots that concern us here, specifically the installation I’m Here, but Nothing, a living room bathed in ultra-violet light and studded with glowing dots.

My companion pointed out that the 50s Danish style of the room’s decor is the same as what I got at home, courtesy of the local junk shop. The catalogue says it’s an image of bourgeois stasis. Just the look I was going for. Thanks. So here you go – 3 easy steps to create a Kusama tribute at your place. Red leotard optional, but highly recommended.
