Slum beautiful

I’ll start by saying I know nothing about what I’m going to post. Great start! All I do know is it’s called Slum Beautiful, and it’s a site run by someone called Demond Meek, dedicated solely to his photographs of derelict houses in St Louis, Missouri.

I think there is something especially strange and striking about the fact most of them are sat in their individual lots, disintegrating on their own. The pictures remind me of Julian Temple’s extraordinary documentary about the depopulation of Detroit. Have you seen it? Watch the opening scenes here:
