Ikea Monkey and Battenberg cake*. Isn’t it beautiful? Aren’t I lucky? It goes in my birthday hall of fame, alongside the homemade battenberg cake I got a few years ago, and an Ikea Monkey oil painting that now hangs in Margate. If your friend had to think of your two favourite objects, what would they be?
*My friend said his second choice would have been pesto and Pee Wee Herman. Hopefully next year…

it was my son’s birthday yesterday and his favourite thing in the world is tomatoes (odd i know) and the little girl next door brought round a large tomato plant that she had grown from seed for him
