Tinsel town

We’re taking a blogging holiday for a few days over Christmas, as My Friend travels to visit family and I write one of those funny time plan things I always assumed were a way to fill pages in Christmas magazines. I’d like to say that because I’m staying at home this year I’ve made more effort with the decs, but it’s still the same funny mixture of tat. What does your tree look like?

Your tree looks lovely. Your supervisor is happy with the decs I presume? She’s willing a bird to be hiding amongst the branches and berries.

At least you got a tree that fits. I thought a 7ft tree in a room with a ceiling at about 9ft would be reasonable… but it feels a bit like stepping out the back of a wardrobe into narnia when I need to go through the living room. Pretty good though – new decs this year from liberty’s and gump’s (the san franciscan equivalent): http://www.flickr.com/photos/phae_/tags/christmastree/

I actually quite like the mish-mash of colours. Reminds me better of the ones I had when we were little (multi-coloured lights with flower shaped bulb covers, iirc) which’ll always feel insta-festive. I haven’t managed to come across a set of lights to match that ideal yet though.

    Merry Christmas! 😀

Oh I love seeing pictures of other people’s trees, and yours is a prize-winner. I went for one I could get and out of the house without sawing any bits off. The brightly coloured trees I remember from being a kid are what I like really, but I have to skip the glass baubles and lametta due to a naughty cat. I’m trying to remember the lights you mean – mine are in fact little white flowers from Habitat. Happy Christms to you and the Helston cognoscenti x
