Happiness is… a new bikini

Up yours British weather. I’m off to Corfu. And my happiness is complete because for the first time in years I am travelling with a bikini that I LOVE. What is required for me to love a thing? As Jill once astutely observed, it really just needs to combine pink and green.

Palm print bikini

This beauty is from Primark, and Jill could have added that the magic third element that really gets me going is a palm-leaf print. Bingo. This has been hanging over the mirror in my bedroom since I bought it, a promise of holidays approaching every morning when I wake up. And since looking at someone else’s bikini for a holiday you’re not going on probably isn’t your idea of a fun post, I’m also sharing my current two pink and green home shots below. One is a bit garish and girlie, the other is sort of faded and mournful. And girlie. Both are from the ever-fabulous MFAMB blog. Thanks Jenni!

Green room

See you on the other side folks. As my builder just said to me earlier today, “get a tan and rid of that grey hair and you’ll look alright.” I’m on it….

I have the same bikini- love it, bought for the palm trees and colour scheme alone! Love a bit of inky blue, pinks and greens together.

builder’s comment made me laugh out loud.

did you tell him ‘if he stopped showing his arse crack and stopped drinking sugary tea then he’d be alright?’

A very thoughtful juxtaposition – bikini patttern as loved through full-fledged interior decoration barocque! 😀

It’s always about the treatment of the hues, on first uttering, “green and pink” many pairs of eyes roll but in my mind, the spectrums of both these colours ceaselessly amaze and inspire.
