Bathroom project

Yeh, so I like to mull things over for a long time. Back on the bathroom again. Things are happening though now and this is what it looks like just now with the floor going down….

Bathroom with diagonal floor Bathroom ideas My Friend's House

To recap I’m tiling a small area around the bath, basin and the whole of the shower in white squares with black grouting. Like the image below, only I think my tiles are a bit smaller (100x100mm), and they won’t be everywhere so your eyes shouldn’t be quite so overstimulated by grid. I’m also adding a shower curtain rather than a screen, and have been looking into green tarps material (tent material, I believe) – in part inspired by the Ace hotel, in part because I seem to love to overcomplicate things.

This was my bizarre inspiration for blending diagonal lines on the floor with squares on the shower walls. Or, in other words getting pattern without buying those amazing patterned tiles that I can’t afford.

Which just leaves colour. I’ve been thinking about this for ages – I don’t need to tell you – and I think I want to use black on the wall around the window as shown in the first image here, with pink everywhere else. I gave the idea of lilac the heave-ho. Ros has warned me about the Elvis effect of black with pink, but these photos made me think it’s going to work. Slash, I really want it to work.

And with the green of the shower curtain the combo will hopefully echo this.

Pink with green | My Friend's House Back soon with an update unless you politely ask me to give it a break (I’d understand).

    great ideas, lovely images
a word from experience; tarp can smell if it’s left to dry gathered; I’d recommend it either being treated (Scotchgard) or left ungathered to dry naturally.
Wishing you Happy Nights [whilst putting] on the Tiles !!
